Baraka Guild Charter

Thank you for taking the time to read this charter - We expect all members to read and adhere to these rules.

1) Baraka is a guild about community, in that we enjoy getting to know one another through Ventrilo, guild chat, and by Instancing and Raiding.

2) Baraka is an informal gathering of players who have adult responsibilities, which may prevent consistent play as well we have player who play consistently. Many of our players are married, have children, or are in the military, or just have demanding jobs, and cannot participate regularly in guild events. Some guilds penalize their members for not having enough game time. We do not. We believe there is a natural benefit to playing regularly, and those who can, reap the benefits of doing so. But this guild was organized to facilitate those who could not play regularly. Helping move each other through quests and levels so as to even the playing field, and allow camaraderie to build through meeting goals and helping others achieve goals whenever possible.

3) Baraka has a strong and growing raid contingent. This group of Barakans has a more serious and committed play style. This group will have to adhere to raid guidelines, spec and gear. We will not tell anyone how they have to spec their class, but in order to raid the talents chosen will have to be raid viable. Getting into raids will be subject to meeting a set of standards set by the Raid leader and Class Leaders, sign ups, availability and conditioned on Class Leader acceptance to raid standards. That being said the Baraka raid community will be helpful in guidance and help for those who want to improve to raid spec, for raiding.

4) Baraka is a group of mature players. There really is no practical way for us to verify all members age so we make the assumption that all members will be mature minded until proven otherwise. We do not accept members under the age of 15.

5) The topics on the guild chat are limitless and are often quite diverse. They are usually fun and light, sometimes serious, and always respectful. We believe that participation in the guild chat is the best way to build a sense of community, which is the "glue" of our guild.

That being said, there are some things that will not be tolerated:

There shall be:
• NO Racial comments or jokes
• NO Political comments - respect for other political views is expected
• NO Gender or sexist comments
• NO Comments or jokes about anyone's sexual preference
• NO Religious jokes or comments

If these comments are made a whisper is likely to follow from an officer, and if the offending party continues or makes mockery of the offence they will be removed from the guild. This includes comments about being offended by someone being offended. We as an officer core are doing our best to make Baraka a fun place for ALL of us to play.
We will not tolerate any conduct or comment to another guildie or player that may be construed as hurtful.

We realize that there can be misunderstandings, but normally these things can be worked out. If, after an officer speaks to someone in a whisper things do not stop, then that person will be removed from the guild. No exceptions.

Who we are:
• A guild that provides a gathering, sharing place to play the game with like-minded people, enjoying one another's company.
• Our Officers are available and approachable for any issue that comes up or suggestion that is made.
• Our members are folks who could laugh at their deaths and cheer at their triumphs
• Folks who don’t mind when a group member gets lost and the group has to wait.
• We want to create a place of little pressure, stress, and high expectations. We have enough of that in real life.
• We want a place to play the game we love while balancing a real life
• A group of players that are not trying to get rich, but just having a good time playing.
• Players who believe our raids and instance groups are Barakan guild members first and non-members if we have to. As a group we would rather run a smaller area then get a large group of outsiders.
• Raiders who help each other to own instances and raids.
